OK so I have seen a few of these items sell with a gatefold sleeve with sellers and on-line "experts" say that it is a printing error.
This is my take, for this to be a printing error it would need to be a to a tooling error as well and there is no way that Andy Warhol would design anything that would look so tatty on the inside with the back of the zip showing and if it was an initial error why are some sleeves with A4/B4 vinyl records which were not the first pressing but I was not there at the time so maybe I am wrong.....maybe.
Anyway the item I am selling is the original first pressing that is not an "error" or been tampered with.
The small zip works well both ways although it is 50 years old now so I wouldn't suggest the new owner spends all day zipping up and down, test it by all means but then preserve it.
The vinyl has a couple of very light handling marks that certainly do not cause the record to jump or stick and it plays very well on both sides, the only thing that I would mention is that on Side 2 Track Dead Flowers at the very beginning of the track there are 3 clicks in the dead space before the song and then 4 clicks just into the music, other than that I did not detect any issues.
The insert which is original is in mint condition and the all important die cut section above the zipper is the best I have ever seen, check out the images of that part.
There are no seam splits, no tears and no writing and on the reverse there are a couple of indentations which based on their position are probably from the zipper from the copy directly beihind this copy when it was sold new in the racks in 1971.
The original inner sleeve is in excellent condition with no seam splits or writing.
