Very rare true 1st pressing promotional DJ radio station copy of The Rolling Stones' 11th US studio album. Among the documented Stereo promotional white label copies of "Sticky Fingers" one can find the ones pressed by Monarch and Presswell. Both of these Not For Sale copies contain the "Stereo" and "Sample Copy" banner. This copy was pressed at the Philips Recording Co, Inc. plant located in Richmond, IN as identified by the "RI" suffix on the label, which doesn't have the "Stereo" banner and instead of "Sample Copy" indicate "Promotional Copy". The copies with this white label variation are extremely rare and highly collectible, and information about them is quite limited. The labels also have the black parts of the 'tongue and lips' logo as three black lines next to the "TM" banner. Original 1st print Andy Warhol's scandalous design cover with a real working metal zipper and orange "Promotional Copy Not For Sale" round sticker on the front. "Sticky Fingers" was the first album to feature the famous "tongue and lips" logo initially created by John Pasche. Considering that this promotional copy was pressed several months before the official release date, the red "tongue and lips" track listing sticker located on the back cover was one of the first ever made. Very early 1st print cover with the bottom right-hand corner having the credits, which are absent on the repressing: "Distributed by ATCO Records. Dibision of Atlantic Recording Corporation ©1971 Musidor, N.V. Printed in U.S.A. by Sound Packaging Corp." The credits located in the bottom left-hand corner read: "Rolling Stones Records T.M. 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10023". This copy comes with an original May 13,1971 "Rolling Stone" magazine vintage ad poster, which promotes the "New Album Sticky Fingers", along with the original "Sticky Fingers" inner sleeve that contains a photo of the band on one side and a large "tongue and lips" logo on the other. Very early 1st pressing with the very rare first BBB-1 / AAA-1-111 matrix stampers, which can't be found on any other promo pressing of this album. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - ST-RS-T1-712189 BBB-1 PR Rolling Stones Records; Side 2 - ST-RS-712190 AAA-1-111 Rolling Stones Records. Please take into consideration that the "PR" abbreviation doesn't identify the Presswell plant, but refers to Philips Recording Co, Inc.

The Near Mint Minus cover is in great condition only having some light factory defect on the front cover in the form of a white pattern at the center right and bottom right-hand corner. Once again, these aren't scuffs but the simple factory defect. The cover doesn't have any ring wear, splits or writing, perhaps only having some very light corner scuffing. The original inner sleeve with the "tongue and lips" logo is in Near Mint Minus condition. The glossy vinyl is in Very Good Plus condition having some very light surface non-feelable hairlines and scuffs from the original inner sleeve. The clean white labels are in Excellent condition and have only a few very light spindle marks visible under a strong light source. The vinyl sounds great without any skips, pops or clicks, only having some light background noise, which is most likely just static and will go away completely if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
