This vinyl LP from The Rolling Stones is a unique and highly sought-after collector's item. It features the iconic album Sticky Fingers, released in 1971 on Rolling Stones Records with catalog number COC-59100. The record itself is made of high-fidelity black vinyl and plays at 33 RPM, with a run time of 44.22 minutes. The cardboard sleeve is one of a kind with an actual working zipper. The cover was done by no other than Andy Warhol and features a striking design on the second page behind the zipper of someone in their tidy whities. Could it be Mick Jagger? No one knows. The album also includes the original inner sleeve and cover, both in good condition. This LP is a must-have for any fan of classic rock 'n' roll and is a rare find for collectors.
This album is one of a kind and I have never seen another one like which has to add value to this risky burlesque type imagery. My mother bought this album back when she was in high school. In the early 70's this was considered pornographic by most parent aged Americans back then. My Grandma thought so when she saw it in her daughter's (my mother) room. Grandma May glued the cover shut to prevent my mother, young Karen, from gawking at pretty much a naked guy. It is such a great back story. This most definitely adds most of the value to this Rolling Stones Album.
I used a heat gun & pried (and I mean hard pried) the two pieces apart. I did what touch up I could but there is most definitely no covering up of this deliberate attempt at concealing Andy Warhol's art piece. A small piece of nostalgia from days when things were easier, more simple perhaps. There are a few marks on the record but they do not affect playback(see pics). An ultrasonic cleaner would remove the marks. Soon, I will be adding one so I can provide the best, and cleanest, Lp's from the 60's and 70's.
FYI all of these records are from my mother's private collection. There are hundreds not listed yet. It is not as easy as you might think; listing them on eBay. Rest in Peace Mom, I Love You & I will see you in time.
