THE ROLLING STONES - 'THE ROLLING STONES'
This beautiful early 2nd pressing of their debut album is on the deep-groove red Decca label: LK.4605
The label details indicate that this copy dates from Spring 1964, just after the initial 1st issue:
The publishing credit for the song 'Honest I Do' is 'Cromwell Music'
The presence of the 'Recording First Published 1964' text with a 'KT' purchase tax code opposite.
The songwriting credit for 'Honest I Do' is credited to 'Hurran, Calvert'
Track 4 is titled as 'I Need You Baby'
Matrix numbers: XARL-6271-1A & XARL-6272-3A
Side 2 plays the long version of 'Tell Me'.
This '3A' cut was the first correction after the initial 1A/2A cuts which contained the short version of that track.
Stamper codes: 2,B/UA & 1/UG
Vinyl weight: 147g
Housed in a front laminated mono cover 'Printed in England', complete with original poly-lined inner-sleeve.
CONDITION
Disc: NEAR MINT
This superb early pressing has been barely played. Both labels are bright & unworn with just a hint of wear to the side 2 centre hole but there are no spindle trails on either. Both playing surfaces are factory-fresh and 'as new' in strong daylight with just a few hardly noticeable wispy paper hairlines and a sparking rainbow shine visible beneath halogen light. The sound qulaity retains all of its raw energy and power with nothing more than a touch of low-level vinyl background between tracks and on the delicate 'Honest I Do'. There are certainly no clicks, pops or any other audible distractions on this exceptional disc which would be tough to upgrade.

These early Decca covers are very hard to find in anything approaching this condition, but this example is an exception.
The front panel is perfectly flat & retains its high-gloss finish with just a hint of a disc impression and no 'thumbnail' wrinkles.
There is a small wrinkle to the upper part of the spine and one on the upper edge, these are just visible in these images.
All corners are in great shape and free from any bumps or bruising and both opening edges are totally unworn.
The exposed rear panel has slight age-toning but is overall very clean & free from any writing or missing paper.
Both seams and the spine are smooth & unworn.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with some gentle storage wrinkles and a small 2cm split to the left seam.
