Description

The Rolling Stones-Their Satanic Majesties Request 1967 2nd Pressing 3D Lenticular/ Gatefold sleeve.
An original 1967 mono issue of the Rolling Stones LP entitled ‘Their Satanic Majesties Request’. The record is on the blue unboxed Decca label with silver text and comes in the 3D Gimmex sleeve with psychedelic red inner
Grading is always subjective especially for a record that is over 50 years old, but I will do my best to give you as accurate a description that I can. From my own personal collection bought new by a real STONES fan and well loved but well played.

Side A  Record is bright and shiny with light surface marks/scratches. Plays with no skips or jumps but there is surface noise and a few clicks more noticeable on quiet parts and lead ins across all tracks. Sounds good for a record over 50 years old. Using GOLDMINE Grading System* I have graded it as Very Good *Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music. Wear will start to be noticeable, such as light scratches.
Side B Record is bright and shiny with light surface marks/scratches but has long feeleable scratch (SEE PICS) towards the end of track 4 2000 Light Years From Home causing it to skip/jump towards the end of the track .Rest of tracks play with no jumps or skips but there is crackling/ surface noise more noticeable on quiet parts and lead ins across all tracks. - using the Goldmine * guide to Grading, I have graded the VINYL as FAIR/GOOD (mostly rate good but fair for track 4 skip). * Goldmine definition of GOOD  An item in Good (G) condition can be played through without skipping, but it will have significant surface noise, scratches, crackling, or visible wear. 

OVERALL GRADING FOR THE VINYL IS GOOD PLUS 
LABELS ARE VERY CLEAN AND LENTICULAR GATE FOLD SLEEVE other than slight edge ware is in EXCELLENT CONDITION.
Issued in RED inner sleeve - Has Rolling Stones 17/6 written in faint pencil by local record shop back in 1967 (SEE PICS)
This is the first issue sleeve with the mono text on the bottom right hand corner of the back of the sleeve. Later issues had this printed on the top right hand corner.
Matrix / Runout (Side A variant 1): ARL-8126-T2-3K*

  • *As the matrix numbers on this copy contain the T2 identifier shows while still being part of the first pressing run it shows that this was in fact the stereo recording folded down to one channel so has to technically be classed a second pressing.
