Description
**The Sea Urchins' "Solace" 7" single** (catalog **SARAH 008**) is their **second single** on the label, issued in **July 1988**.
It's a **2-track 45 RPM single** (double A-side style in some descriptions): - Side A: "Solace" (~3:00–3:30, approximate) - Side B: "Please Rain Fall" (~3:00–3:30, approximate)
Classic **Sarah Records indie pop / jangle pop / twee** sound—shimmering, chiming guitars, wistful and dreamy melodies, fragile yet uplifting vocals from James Roberts, with that signature bright-yet-melancholic late-80s Sarah charm. Often praised for its beautiful jangle dynamics and emotional depth in the quieter vocal moments contrasted with louder guitar swells.
A key follow-up to their debut SARAH 001 ("Pristine Christine"), part of the core early Sarah/C86-indie canon, and later included on compilations like *Stardust* (1992). This is a **first pressing** 1988 vinyl. Highly collectible among fans of pristine British indie pop from the era.
