Item: ‘The Secrets of Surfing’ by Mike Doyle, World Champion Surfer, 1967, in exceptional condition. A Fleetwood Recording (FLP 3018). SIGNED.
A 2-sided instructional LP (with waves crashing in the background throughout). The only voice is that of Mike Doyle, the surfer ranked #1 in the world in 1965, 1966, and 1967.
NOTE: I WAS PRIVILEGED TO BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH MIKE DOYLE THIS WEEK.
MR. DOYLE READILY CONFIRMED THAT “ONLY ABOUT 100 COPIES OF THIS LP WERE MADE.”
THE COVER IS CLEARLY AND STRONGLY, AND VERY LEGIBLY INSCRIBED AND SIGNED in the frame of the cover photo under the surfboard:
“TO RAY THE CAT THAT’S A COOL HEAD WE WILL SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN FOR SOME MORE AND EVEN MORE EXCITING ADVENTURES THAN THE AUTO RAMA - (Signed) The Golden Eagle Doyle”

Record: M-: Full gloss. No cracks, No chips, No pits, No needle runs. No repeating grooves. A very few light surface marks that do not affect play. Disc looks very lightly PLAYED.

Notables: Known as ‘The Golden Eagle,’ or just ‘Doyle,’ Mike Doyle was the top surfer in the US in the mid 1960’s (ranked as “The Champion”), won 1st place in the National Surfers Poll conducted by Surfer magazine in 1965, 1966, and 1967, was the 1st surfer ever to be named to the Hall of Champions, and was elected to the Surfing Hall of Fame in 1966.
