Description
The Smashing Pumpkins “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness”
- 1998 European Press SVG/VG+
- Other than the top split pictured, jacket is immaculate.
- Original Inners are included in NM condition, simply not pictured
This is a probable 3rd Press, possible 1st Press of the Smashing Pumpkins “Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness”.
The original was released in Europe in 1996, had the little white box on the cover and was numbered 1-5000. The second pressing came that same year, numbered 5000+ with the third pressing released in 1998 (white box left blank on these copies). All were solely released in the EU.
Accordingly to Discogs and many other blogs, original pressings were also issued with a blank box as its thought the original did exceed 5000 copies printed, the box left blank to not overstate the number of pressings advertised.
When this album was acquired, it was presented that the owner purchased it as its original release but with all 3 first releases being entirely identical, this is a hard thing to verify.
In its original 3 LP form, released originally only in Europe, this album is a beautiful condition amazing sounding piece of vinyl and Smashing Pumpkins history - an absolute GRAIL 🎃
