The Smiths “A Nice Bit Of Meat” (1986) unreleased live \ studio session LP

This is a rare compilation featuring previously unreleased recordings by The Smiths from the late 1980s. The album comprises live television appearances, alternative session versions, and live soundcheck recordings.

The cover bears the provocative title "A Nice Bit of Meat", a tongue-in-cheek reference to Morrissey’s well-known vegetarianism. The front cover artwork features a striking and controversial nude photograph of a then-unknown Marilyn Monroe, taken by Tom Kelley on May 27, 1949 which would later go on to sell over a million shop floor calendars.The back cover features a well-known photo of The Smiths on a sidewalk in Montmartre, Paris, France, shot in December 1984 by Paul Slattery.

As unofficial releases are notoriously sloppy in their attention to detail, I have listed the corrected song titles, exact venues and dates (European format) of each track below. This is a highly sought-after and difficult to find collectible for serious fans and completists of The Smiths and Morrissey in mint condition.

2. Asleep (from the soundcheck at Inverness Eden Court, Scotland, 01/10/1985)

4. What Do You See In Him? (live at the Hacienda, Manchester, England, 04/02/1983)
5. Reel Around The Fountain (unreleased Troy Tate studio outtake summer 1983)

Note: For obvious reasons, the songs are credited to "The Vegetarians" and have alternative track titles on the labels. Also, the matrix inscription is the same on both sides of the vinyl - weird!
