Description
The Smiths - Morrissey Signed 'Bigmouth Strikes Again' 12 inch single 1st pressing, Catalogue No RTT192.
I have had this extremely rare Morrissey signed copy of 'Bigmouth Strikes Again' B/W 'Money Changes Everything'/'Unloveable' since June 1986. It is a first pressing of the 12 inch single.
It is signed by Morrissey. I won the single as a bonus when buying 'The Queen is Dead' album on the first day of release at Penny Lane Records, Bold St, Liverpool, by answering a simple question ("What is Morrissey's first name?" Duhh!). Apparently a very small number of copies had been signed and distributed to various record shops around the UK as a promotion.
The 12 inch vinyl has been played only around half a dozen times since purchase and then only on an extremely high-end deck, and the playing surface is in as bought. pristine completely unmarked condition (see pics). The cover is also in as bought, pristine completely unmarked condition, having been kept in a plastic album sleeve for all this time (see pics). The inner sleeve is in very good condition (see pics).
This is extremely rare and, as far as I can tell, there are hardly any other Morrissey signed records for sale anywhere in the world (he is known for signing virtually nothing these days). It is even more rare to find Smiths singles/albums signed by Morrissey.
If anyone wants any more details regarding provenance, or need any further information at all please contact me.
This would make an absolutely brilliant gift for any lifelong Smiths fan.
