Description

The Smiths “Music is Magnificent” vintage unreleased 1985 live vinyl LP

This is a rare unofficial live album featuring highlights of a concert by The Smiths recorded at Ipswich Gaumont Theatre, Suffolk, England on March 11, 1985. The album documents the ninth gig of the Meat Is Murder tour, and all songs from the official album are featured, except Well I wonder which was never played live by The Smiths. The song was instead replaced by Shakespeare's Sister which was to be released as a single a mere 7 days later.

In an obvious attempt to mimic the aesthetic of the official Meat Is Murder Album, the cover features an image repeated four times of a man dressed in knee breeches holding a penny-farthing bicycle while wearing headphones. The large front wheel is represented as a vinyl record, and 'The Smiths' band name is rendered in bold red lettering using the same typeface as the Meat is Murder album.

This is an original pressing, highly sought-after and difficult to find collectible for serious fans and completists of The Smiths and Morrissey. See full tracklist and other details below.
