Description

The Smiths - 'Barbarism Begins At Home' German 12'' - 1985

'Barbarism Begins At Home' was never released as a single (beyond demonstration stage) on vinyl in the UK, only in Germany (7" and 12") and Italy (7"). This is the 12" version of the German release and is now becoming extremely rare, being one of the earlier releases in 1985 with many copies no doubt being played and discarded before the Smiths became truly collectable. The sleeve artwork consists of the sought-after iconic yellow and black Morrissey-designed Viv Nicholson sleeve and the B-sides are 'Shakespeare's Sister' and 'Stretch Out And Wait'. This is a release which is highly-prized amongst collectors, primarily for the rare sleeve artwork. It was listed in Record Collector's 2005 renowned Smiths Top 100 list at Number 88. The vinyl is in strong excellent condition, with only very light 'hairline' surface marks in places which become visible if the record is held to the light. The vinyl retains its new-looking glossy sheen. The sleeve is in excellent condition, having just minor corner wear and one very minor crease towards the top left hand corner. Other than that, there are no significant signs of wear and the sleeve is very presentable with no seam splits. Please see the accompanying photos; note that the ID lettering is just on the pictures and not the item itself.

Postage and Packing is free in the UK for untracked and uninsured standard postage, but please consider paying the 1.00 surcharge for tracked postage since there is, of course, nothing that can be done to find out what happened if the parcel is lost when standard postage is chosen. Shipping costs are greater for overseas buyers, but still good value; please check prices by using the options above or feel free to ask. I always take great care to package items well.
