SMITHS LP - Has mint color inner sleeve . Numbered 41/55 ON SILVER Wax . Europe import .

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration of sound quality.
Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played but there is lessening of sound quality.
Very Good (VG) - The record has obviously been played many times but displays no deterioration of sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and an occasional light scratch.
Good - The record has been played so much the sound quallity has noticeably deteriorated perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise. It may even jump.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise,
New records are NM/NM. Unless otherwise noted . Very close to mint . Never Played. Cover may have slight stock/ship wear . If so , the cover will be graded.
I always grade the cover first Inner sleeve always graded Obi strip is graded Box and booklets graded.
I use "Record Collector" Magazine grading . And add a "NM" in between M and EX. One grade is equal. Covers graded first. VG+ Records will have surface noise accompanied w/ classic surface noise. I guarantee that . Don't buy the VG+ If you are picky like myself!
RECORD COLLECTORS GRADING SYSTEM
Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or reduction in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little reduction in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayed no major reduction in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
