Description

The Smiths, The Smith Vinyl. Original 1984 UK CBS Pressing.
Very nice original Rough Trade release of the Smiths from 1984.
Outer Sleeve - Nice and glossy with virtually no rubbing to the corners and edges. Some very light dents if you hold it to the light and some minor creasing to the card around the edges.  Not what I would call 'mint' but very, very good for its age. Nice spine, and only very light picking to the open end. No writing, splits, or nasty marks etc, all in all an excellent collectable sleeve. Please study images. EX+ This is the sleeve with the grey coloured 'The Smiths' which contained the 'stencilled' Rough Trade centers. The 'cursive' Rough trade text was often in outer sleeves with a pastel green 'The Smiths'
Inner Sleeve - Matt printed variety, that was most prevalent on earlier releases. Two area's of rub-through on the edges (see images) but otherwise in good shape. VG+
Vinyl - Visually the vinyl looks pretty much perfect. Nice and glossy with minimal signs of use. It does have a few hairlines visible in a strong light, but overall really good. Plays with some light crackle on the lead in / out and between the tracks but nothing that would spoil the enjoyment of the music. Certainly no clicks, or jumps. EX+ Note - the last image of the vinyl has a hair on it. This is not a scratch or damage.
Dead Wax Info A side - ROUGH 61 A2 TIM TOM CBS <   Dead Wax Info B side - ROUGH 61 B2 TY C
According to Discogs this is CBS Variant 13 side one and Variant 5 side 2 (closest match) ?
Labels - Stenciled 'Rough Trade' logo. Nice and clean and undamaged. Just a few light spindle marks.
In summary, A really good original copy with both sleeve and vinyl in Excellent condition. Only really the inner with some wear.
Please study the images for condition etc, paying attention to the corners, spine and opening side of the sleeve as this is a good indicator of the condition.
I try to be honest as possible if a little conservative in my grading on a subject that is often completely down to subjective interpretation. The condition of the record is difficult to photograph, but hopefully the sleeve images speak for themselves.
UK Bidders only.
