Description
The Soft Machine - Volume Two
This is the first UK pressing of the LP - with pink Probe labels. Released 1969 on Probe - Cat # SPB 1002.
Matrices are A1/B1. In semi laminated Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve.
Visual and play graded to Goldmine Standard - Vinyl is VG+/VG, sleeve is VG.
Vinyl - Visually graded as VG+ Only a few faint marks. Side 2 has a couple of faint blotchy marks. Overall good shine and colour. Listened through about 40% of the record - Side 1 - I heard no surface noise at all, really good sound throughout. Side 2 - A couple of quiet passages have light surface noise which in my opinion do not detract from the music, more of a background crackle which you expect from old records. So I'd say side 1 is easily VG+ and side 2 is more VG due to some light crackle in quiet parts.
Sleeve - The front cover is laminated so has minimal wear, just slight creasing. Slight edge wear to top edge and sleeve opening. To the rear - the top edge looks to have been taped which is odd because it's not coming apart at all. Slight tearing on flip back to the top and the rest has light general wear, few creases. Hole punch through sleeve and inner to top right corner VG

About the seller:
I am a record collector myself and have been buying vinyl online since the 90's. I started selling on Ebay a few months ago and have sold 80+ records so far - please check my feedback. I am now selling a collection of around 400 LPs that I have inherited from a family friend that have been in storage for over 25 years. They have been stored upright in a smoke free home for that time.
Grading:
I grade records using the "Goldmine Standard." If you are not familiar with this you can Google it and find details quite easily. None of the records I am selling are Mint (unopened, unused) so will normally be NM, VG+ or VG. I give a separate grading for the vinyl and the sleeve. I do not have time to listen to each record fully but after careful visual inspection I always listen to any parts that have marks that look like they will affect the sound. I always try to give as much information as possible and highlight in the photos any wear to the sleeves. Basically the last thing I want is the buyer to have any surprises when receiving the record.
Postage & packing:
All records are sent in a polythene sleeve in a corrugated cardboard mailer and with stiffeners. I normally post the next working day and always within two. I do not make any profit from P&P - Once Ebay and Paypal have taken their percentage and I pay for the mailer, sleeve and the postage itself, I just about break even. If you wish to buy more than one record and combine the shipping, please contact me before paying so I can send a new invoice. I can normally fit up to 3 records in one mailer, depending on the thickness of the sleeves. International shipping is through the Ebay Global Shipping Programme where Ebay take care of the shipping outside of the UK. There is better protection in this method for buyer and seller.
