Description
I would like to add this note about the lp condition in the description below. The light factory haze that I describe is similar to the hazing you can find on 60's pressings that was especially prevelant in labels such as MGM (Animals or Herman's Hermits for example) or United Artists (Spencer Davis Group for example) Any experienced record seller or buyer knows that the haze that is in the vinyl takes away from the luster/glossiness and should be play graded because a percentage of these types of lps have surface noise caused by the factory hazing. This surface noise can range from superficial/light to overwhelming and unlistenable. The light haze on this lp is truely light and takes away from the gloss that an lp of this grade should have. It also can make it hard to see light marks on the vinyl. If this lp did not have this light haze I would have more than likely visually grade this lp at near mint instead of excellent to near mint. This haze does contribute some light surface noise ( I would say no less than 5% and no more that 10%) The noise is noticable between songs and in the dead passages but it is neither obnoxious nor overwhelming. It is just there. Also remember with this type of music that there is no dead passages and Etiquette records did not exactly produce audiophile pressings to begin with! Simply put...this lp rocks, has tremendous presence, and probably only bats and dogs could even hear any noise in the songs themselves. Most dealers would not even mention the haze but my attention to detail is what keeps the customer coming back and giving me the feedback I feel I deserve. Remember.... Cranium's don't sell no junk!
PLEASE NOTE: Click on the "me" icon above to go to CRANIUM'S ABOUT ME page and you can find out what has been going on in Craniumland. Also our grading and store policies. Good Luck!
