The Sons Of Fred. Sweet Love b/w I'll Be There. UK Columbia. 1965. DEMO. Pete Sears and Mick Hutchinson's first band now rumoured never to have actually become The Odyssey as the story ran in Record Collector many years ago. Ironically, both sides of this magnificent beast were composed by the group's main man, Alan Bohling who now plays in a tribute band! Obviously, both sides are renowned British Freakbeat monsters with Sweet Love having enjoyed a place in the legendary Rubble compilation series from the late 80s. I'll Be There is an amphetamine-fuelled, snotty slice of wild as **** R&B, beat whilst Sweet Love is a more curious and menacing bruiser of a recording. Both sides naturally amazing and copies of this are very rarely seen. Vinyl in VG cond. (plays EX and the music is loud!!) Datestamp on label.
