Description
The Souls Sister original 1964 "I Can't Stand It" 12 inch Vinyl LP on Sue Records.
God these gals were great! I used to go see them at the Regal Theater in Chicago in the mid-1960's. Huge voices belting out soul music and moving around the stage like...well just the way they did! They never made it too big, and I don't know why. They'er soooo..good.
This is their great LP from that era. You rarely see it listed and when you do it's way expensive.
The LPs is in VG+ shape, a few clicks but lots of original sheen and plays fine. The cover.....oh the cover! Someone punched four holes in the corners. It also has some wear on the botton (see photo.) But the cover looks great even with the holes, and this is one heck of a rare collectors item.
This is a mono record. Those of you who know and really listen to the records you buy from the '60s soul era know that the mono ones sound the best. The Stereo ones were often "enhanced stereo" which was phoney stereo with echo and eq added to the left and right differently to "simulate stereo" and sound terrible, or they were 3 or 4 track recordings never meant to be released in stereo. So you have all the rhythm on one side and the horns on the other. Or worse the lead singer on one side and the backup singers on the other. Get the mono and hear how it was mixed for the 45rpm and radio release, and get out your dancing shoes!
