The Soulfuric crew have a habit of causing dangerous chemical reactions. You'll definitely need to slap some hazard tape round the booth before spinning this one: the Chicago cadre's second 'Sound Of' volume here tests the regulatory limits of disco, kicking off with a butterflies-inducing Donna Allen vocal cut and ending on the cyclonic Gabriel Rene closer 'Spirit'. The spaces between - 'We Are One' and 'Your Heaven', as supplied by Fort Lauderdale mechanics Urban Blues Project - are beefier, but this is mostly a lightfooted, boutique disco EP with an unconventionally natural feel, one that shoos artificial extravagance: a jolie lathe indeed.
