GRADING

Record grading is, unfortunately, a subjective thing. We take the view that:

MINT =sealed and un-played ONLY.  Nothing opened and played is Mint.

NEAR MINT = barely played, and we only use this on items we have owned from new and know this is the truthful description of usage.

VERY GOOD+ = an item with minimal sign of usage, minor cosmetic flaws, clean and clear playback with nothing worse than very isolated, light/minor deterioration .

VERY GOOD = light/moderate wear, light (hair) lines, nothing worse than occasional or light minor sound deterioration

GOOD+ = moderate wear, moderate (scratch) lines to vinyl, more frequent and/or more noticeable sound deterioration but still listenable

GOOD =heavy wear to sleeve (but no significant tears, print damage etc) , heavy (scar or scuff) lines to vinyl fairly continuous sound deterioration that is heavy and overpowers the music – but it will play through.

FAIR/POOR =sleeve or vinyl is ruined/useless. Unplayable, unusable.

We test play records if we sell them as individual items.  If they play fine on first play we accept this as proof they will play properly.

We test on two turntables if we believe there may be problems and satisfy ourselves that the vinyl plays properly on both before putting the item up for sale.

However some decks, needles etc are more sensitive to noise, dust, debris etc. than others and may lead to a different listening experience. If you are dissatisfied with the playback we will happily accept a return and provide a refund.
