Description

An original late - 1st issue of the 2nd album on UK Fontana from '66. Matrix 1/1. Likely pressed summer 1966. Please note that this copy comes housed in a rear paste-over cover. By this point Chris Blackwell's involvement is emblazened on the rear. His name and a rather cool looking Island Records logo at the foot of the rear. We also have the original inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition particularly given the vintage and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side, and one very superficial trail - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Wow - some bangin' hits on this record. And you need a nice early copy which is gonna deliver some serious bass tones on 'Keep on Running'. And this pressing does not disappoint - it is quality through and through. A lovely clean player. I detect a couple of crackles in a couple of spots in 'Georgia' and one isolated tick. This is by far the fussiest number on the album - and this copy is executing it superbly. Love it! Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg) Nice flat and clean front - with just a crease in the bottom right corner. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the ageing process - just light handling/dirt in places and only minor ageing. Little edge wear and the spine is 100% intact. Nice firm openings and the cover retains excellent rigidity, in part, thanks to the heavy card in manufacture. Sweet!
Inner (Vg) Quite aged. No splits. Bag present.
