Pressed on a gorgeous coloured double 12", this outstanding document of The Stone Roses' appearance at the Hurricane Festival, Scheeßel, Germany on 22.06.12 captures the band firing on all cylinders during their triumphant reunion era.
From the off, there's a swagger and confidence flowing through the set, with Brownie in surprisingly fine voice, hitting all the right notes... well, almost. The chemistry between the four is undeniable; Mani's bass lines are fat as owt, locking in effortlessly with Reni, who's an absolute machine behind the kit, playing a proper blinder from start to finish. Meanwhile, Squire is simply majestic, weaving his six-string magic across every tune with the kind of effortless brilliance that reminds you why he's regarded as one of Manchester's finest guitarists.
The sound is top drawer, the atmosphere electric, and the performance packed with enough goosebump moments to keep even the most hardened Roses obsessive grinning like a loon. No messing about, this is one of the essential SR BLs to have in your collection.
A proper Manc treasure, rare as rocking horse shite and about as easy to track down an' all. If you do manage to bag a copy, get it on the turntable, stick the kettle on, and prepare for a belting reminder of why The Stone Roses were, and always will be, the dog's bollocks.
