The TEMPTATIONS – “CLOUD NINE”…LP…(Tamla Motown, STMLO-10022)…original 1969 Aussie FIRST pressing…their 8th studio album...their first album to be fully produced by Norman Whitfield...has 3 awesome funk tunes on Side One (all written by Whitfield), and features the first of their foray into lengthy trippy psychedelic funk tunes, the near-10-minute "RUN AWAY CHILD, RUNNING WILD".

…PROMO COPY (original red and white round promo sticker on Side 1 label)…but what really defines this as possibly being unique, is that the record is so close to being completely MINT…virtually as fresh and shiny and clean and UTTERLY pristine as the day it was pressed…has been played, but possibly only once or twice (really)...

It's part of a HUGE collection of an ex-Aussie radio station big-wig (nice guy) who was given TWO promotional copies of every release (LP, 7”, 12”), by every Australian major label between 1956 and 1991 (the mind boggles - but it's true), and he stashed one away, never to be played, protected individually in non-vinyl-affecting plastic covers. Most of the albums I have to sell of his, are the unplayed ones, but this was the radio station copy - has a 'Release Date' rubber stamp on the back, and the date '3.7.69' (3rd July 1969, if you're in the USA) handwritten beneath it.

So, this is indeed, an original 1969 FIRST pressing. The vinyl is truly beautiful.

Laminated flip-back cover.
