Description
LOT018: PHONOGRAM – 7? single-sided test pressing, “The Teacher” – Big Country, vinyl – VG – only light marks
If someone you know is a Big Country fan they might be interested in this. Acetate test pressings are produced by record labels to make sure that what comes out of the record press is the same music as what went in, and to check quality. Typically they are only fit to be played a few times and companies only tended to make a handful of them. Since they’re not supposed to leave the record label, except maybe as personal momentos for the artists themselves, they are very, very rare and highly collectable. This is likely to be a unique item, the only one left in the world. So if you know a Big Country fan who’d like to own the (potentially) last remaining copy of this acetate test pressing, share this listing with them.
None of these acetates has been test-played as doing so would risk damaging them. Grading is visual only.
