One of the most celebrated horror soundtrack releases of the modern vinyl era, this deluxe Waxwork Records edition of John Carpenter’s The Thing features Ennio Morricone’s haunting original score remastered from the original master tapes and presented in one of the most elaborate packages ever produced for a horror soundtrack.
This sought-after WW027 “Trapped Under Ice” Edition is pressed on stunning 180-gram Deep Blue with White Haze vinyl and housed inside Waxwork’s heavyweight old-style tip-on gatefold jacket with a satin finish and spot UV gloss artwork by Phantom City Creative. The package is complete with the exclusive 11” x 22” fold-out poster, John Carpenter interview booklet, custom printed inner sleeve, and the spectacular “Trapped Under Ice” presentation that has made this one of Waxwork’s signature releases.

Two piece outer box, central zigzag join. Sturdy construction with a high gloss finish and matte black inside. There is no barcode on this outer cover. Text to one spine only.
Picture labels. The blue vinyl is translucent. Held in a polylined die cut black paper inner.
The gatefold sleeve has a wide spine and is of thick gauge cardstock. The central image and latitude lines to the front are in a spot gloss varnish detail.
Includes a 22" x 11" fold-out poster.
Also includes a similarity sized four page booklet featuring artwork and text from an interview with John Carpenter. Runouts are hand etched except "Welcome to 1979" is stamped.
