This is a now long out of print difficult to find
1966 seven inch vinyl single record from
The Throb titled Black,.
Manufactured in Australia on,
Parlophone by E.M.I. [CAT#A8212]
The Throb are mostly famous for their better-than-the-Stones cover version of Fortune Teller, but the band’s finest recorded moment came six months later, when they transformed the bittersweet traditional folk song Black into a violent feedback-laden Gothic masterpiece.
Unfortunately Black was not a substantial hit and the band soon disintegrated.
Nonetheless, the Throb still had one of the best band names ever,
and even better... they looked exactly liked they sounded!
Format: Vinyl, 7"
Country: Australia
Released: Apr 1966
Genre: Rock
Style: Beat, Mod, Garage Rock
This fab original 7" single also features
Turn My Head on the B-side!
Comes housed in an original 60s Parlophone company paper sleeve
within a protective soft plastic outer sleeve..
