Description
Fantastic and gorgeous 54-track, 3-LP reggae/ska compilation – The Trojan Story – released in 1971 on Trojan Records.
This is the original, not a reissue, and features stacks of fantastic artists from Jimmy Cliff to The Maytals, The Skatalites to The Pioneers, Derrick Morgan and Jackie Edwards to Dandy Livingstone and The Ethiopians.
The 'pocket' sleeve has survived well with some edge wear, minor creasing and a surface tear to the front cover measuring around 5 x 1.5 cm (it's not too noticeable though).
The vinyl is miraculously in really decent condition – I would grade it VG++ to Excellent. This is pretty unusual as many Trojan compilations were played to death, covered in scratches and scuffs and rarely grade better than VG.
Classic orange and white Trojan labels are all in good shape – no writing, damage or excessive spindle wear. The plain white inner sleeves have browned a little with age but apart from the odd minor tear are in good shape. An unusually nice copy!
