The Tubby Hayes Quintet ?– Down In The Village - 1963 Mono Vinyl LP UK Pressing. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class.
Here we have a hard to find original pressing from the Tubby Hayes Quintet entitled Down in the Village. This is the 1963 mono UK pressing with catalogue number 680 998 TL.
The sleeve is in very good condition with nice sharp colours on the front and great corners. Spine it completely readable and the front laminate layer is still in place although very slightly coming away at the bottom. The top left and right corners are very slightly curved although this is no physical damage from this such as creasing. They may well flatten over time. There is a small pen mark on the back as seen in photos. There is also very slight foxing (discolouration) on the top right of the back of the sleeve, again, see photos.
The disc itself is in very nice condition and almost completely free of marks and scratches. After thorough cleaning there is still some residue dirt deep in the grooves although this will likely be easy to extract if you have a professional cleaner (which I don't). That being said, the disc plays like a VG+ one with minimal crackle, clicks or pops. Some very light surface noise on the quiet spoken introduction on both sides but never overpowers once the music starts. A truly lovely example and conservatively graded at VG due to physical appearance, not playing quality.
