Description
Hello and welcome to my auction.
I have taken many pictures of this record as seen above.
I use the record collector grading system of Bad / Poor / Good (G) / Very Good / Excellent / Mint.
Please see below for grading details.
I also use a + or a - for grades that I consider slightly better or worse.
A VG disc on this site will not be is nasty condition like many sellers.
All records are sent out in plastic covers.
I never ship records inside the picture covers or LP jackets.
THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO
USA STEREO MGM LP.
This pressing is from around 1971. The cover is an original 2nd press (V6 5008) airbrushed late 60`s cover with the Peelable Banana. The cover has the added Polydor sticker with the new 2315 056 number. This pressing I would think was imported for the UK market looking at the Ploydor sticker and Headhunters inner cover. They used up the original covers on newer discs.
The Record / VG condition. The LP has a nice original gloss with some light wear / some light marks under halogen bulb. This is a strong VG condition and not rubbish!
Sound / play grading / VG+ / The disc plays with some surface crackle on some parts but nothing very serious.
Matrix Numbers 2315 056-A-1 / 2315-056-B1.
Vinyl Weight 127 grams.
The Cover / VG+ condition.
The top of the banana has been stuck back on at some point but the banana is still complete! The bottom of the cover has one small 1" split as seen in the above pictures. This is in decent shape for this USA cover with some normal age storage wear.
The Labels / EX condition.
The Inner Cover / VG- condition. The inner has some damage to one corner + some creasing.
.................................................................................
I USE THE UK GRADING SYSTEM BELOW.
Mint - as new and in perfect condition.
Excellent - A real nice example with light wear only. An EX disc will play great and the cover will be very nice too.
Very Good - The disc will have light surface wear and some light marks. The record will still play very well but may have some surface sound and a little crackle as this is graded as VG. The cover will have some creasing and storage age wear. The disc and cover will have no very serious faults. A VG disc and cover will also not be perfect!
Good / G condition - The disc will have very visible surface wear and light marks with some deeper marks. The cover will show much age wear and will not be the best example! The record will still play but will have surface sound and ticks etc.
Fair - This will be a tatty example of both disc and cover. The record will play with surface sound and noise. The cover will look tatty from age and storage wear.
Bad / Poor -This will be a badly worn example of both record and cover. The disc may jump or play with much surface sound. I would rarely sell an item like this.
Thanks for looking.
