I can't believe I'm selling this, but there's a time for all things .Lou Reed's death puts it in perspective. RIP Lou.
I bought this actual album in 1969 but had first listened to in the original mono pressing in 1967, I guess that shows my age. Wish I had that one. The banana peel is pealed, torn, and replaced at the stem but not peeled any further. I was the culprit.
This is the retouched version with the Eric Emerson torso removed from the back cover. If you're seriously considering bidding on this album you know its fantastic history. I wish I had cared for it more carefully, I didn't pay much attention to preserving the cover when I first got it, but all in all I didn't abuse it. its major defect is the top and bottom damage to the spine which has darkened with age. I've taken close ups of the corners. Everything else would grade out at VG+.
This record has had quite a few plays. That being said I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to it critically to provide info for this listing. I've always had very good turntables and there is remarkably little hiss from record wear. There are however a couple of light scratches on each side that impact playback. Nico gets the blunt of some pops on the record, especially in Femme Fatale which has a pop throughout most of the band . The first part of I'll Be Your Mirror also has some pops. No other bands have anything but a little very minor noise. The label is clean and unmarked. All photos are of the actual album.
All bands track smoothly and the transitions are silent. But for the pops I would have rated the record a VG++. As it is, the record is very playable
A final note on the condition ratings. I'm not a pro so I have tried to apply the rating criteria I've found on other listings of this record, I think the record sounds great and hope that you will too. Please examine the photos carefully. I'll be happy to answer any questions.
