Description
Up for auction is a copy of The Velvet Underground's album Loaded. I have tried to identify exactly what pressing this is, but I am having some trouble. I will try to describe it as best as possible, but if anyone looking could help me out identifying it more clearly I would appreciate it.
The outer sleeve is in overall very good condition. I'd say bordering on excellent. There is very very limited wear on both the corners and the edges. There is the slightest bit of LP burn on the back cover. There is no separation on any of the seams to note. On the front of the sleeve, in the upper left hand corner, there was a price sticker that had been removed by a previous owner. It left a mark there. The album will include an outer plastic sleeve.
The LP itself is also in very good condition. It for sure could use a wipe down or a clean before being played. Either then that, I can not notice any surface marking to note on the vinyl.
Now to what pressing this is....
The back of the album has a copyright mark with the year 1970 noted. It was released on Cotillion Records (Division of Atlantic Recording Corporation). The vinyl itself has a light blueish label in the middle of the vinyl. The vinyl seems to be a heavy weight (possibly 180gram). That's where I am hung up, usually with re releases they not the re release year on the back cover, but there is no indication of that. Further, I am not familiar with any records that come in a heavy duty pressing from back in the day.
Anyway, look at the pictures as best you can and please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions about the album.
Thanks for looking!! Check out some of my other listings if you get a chance and are looking for more records.
