Description
The Velvet Underground NYC Unofficial Australian Vinyl LP Revisited Records 1989.
Sleeve-VG/Media-NM
For the Velvet Underground “completist”, I am presenting this seldom seen, bootleg LP of material by the band, recorded in various settings between 1965 and 1969. The opening tracks on each side are live recordings from 1968 capturing the band in performance at La Cave, Cleveland. There is also a selection of material from the band’s 1969 Record Plant sessions, songs that were supposed to form the backbone of their ill fated fourth LP for Verve/MGM. The album also includes both sides of Nico’s 1965 Immediate single “I’m not sayin’/ “The Last Mile”, a release that featured a young Jimmy Page in the producer’s chair.
As this is an unofficial release, taken from a variety of sources, I should point out that the sound fidelity varies accordingly.
The record sleeve has a few corner dings and creases and the top seam is beginning to split (see photos) I would grade the sleeve as VG. The record itself is in excellent condition with no visible blemishes. I would grade the record as NM.
