Description
This is the hard-to-find promotional (DJ) copy of the Velvet Underground's first release. It has a peeled banana and the rare uncensored "Eric Emerson" torso on the back cover.
* The album has been play-tested and there are NO SKIPS. However, it has many scratches and significant surface noise; please listen to the sound-bites provided (the first ~30 seconds on each side).
(R)© Metro-Goldyn Mayer Inc. / (R) Verve Records – V-5008 – Printed in USA
Cover Condition
- Outside covers have moderate surface wear and nicks all over – speckled yellowing/discoloration, a few indented scratches. The outside also has creases/wrinkles along the edge (most notably along the spine).
- Both the top and bottom edges are split. The top edge is split all the way across, and the bottom edge is split about two-thirds across.
- The edges were taped, presumably a long time which is yellowing. The tape along the top edge has broken, while the bottom edge is loosely held together with the tape.
Due to this condition, the vinyl is held (and will be shipped) in a separate generic white sleeve.
- Inside covers (when opened) have surface wear / yellowing / discoloration.
- The inside of the spine does not appear to show holes / breaking.
Vinyl Condition
- Both sides of the vinyl have various hairlines and light scratches.
- Center labels have mild surface wear.
- Both sides of the vinyl have text that read: “Disc Jockey Record – NOT FOR SALE”
*We only ship domestically (US / Puerto Rico)!
