Description 
The Velvet Underground & NICO- MONO is easily one of the most significant, sought after and rare titles in the relm of 60's psych/garage as the album that created and launched alternative rock and roll. 
WARHOL BANANA COVER The gatefold cover is cataloged as v-5008 (mono) both on the spine, and rear lower-left-hand corner. This is the very hard to find TORSO variation without the censorship sticker. 
Overall condition is very presentable. I did not glamorize the cover, I used daylight to show every wart since I know this will be a precious purchase and I don't want to disappoint anyone. The banana's printing is strong with little if any fading if any. The top of the banana's stem looks to have been taken down at one time then re-stuck back down, showing evidence at the tip, but remains glued solidly to the cover. The backcover has some slight ringwear over the groups name (pictured). There is a 4" split along the top seam. Edge damage from impact is seen at the lower right corner (pictured). There is some staining along to bottom edges of both sides (pictured). I will rate cover condition at VG (even though it is very close to VG+ ) but PLEASE SEE PHOTOS! 
Very nice glossy disc with some light sleeve scuffing. No audible cut or scratches. I will give it a VG+ rating. Because it is almost impossible to visually judge record wear, I recorded two sample using a Technics SL-1700 turntable fitted with a Stanton 681EEE cartridge and recorded via Audacity through an Edirol UA-1EX dac. The audio files are directly as needledropped with NO noise or pop removal applied. Except for brief crackles near the records lip, playback is great with no pops or skips.

Edit: Someone asked me if there is any paper loss to the cover and the answer is NO. The white object to the top right of the banana is a very thin remnant of a price sticker. I did not attempt to remove it, but I can tell because it is such a thin sliver of paper it would come off easily without any paper loss.
