Here is your opportunity to own the self titled 1st album from The Velvet Underground & Nico.  This was the very first album from the Velvet Underground and it featured the lovely Nico on several tracks. This album is truly a treasure and a must for any Velvet Underground or Lou Reed fans.  If you have never heard this album, you owe it to yourself to hear it on vinyl.  It is one of my all time favorites and I highly recommend it.  Rolling Stone Magazine ranked The Velvet Underground & Nico self titled album number 13 out of the top 500 albums of all time.  This LP is the 2nd US Stereo pressing on Verve Records from 1968.  This particular LP is a much sought after West Coast Stereo Pressing.  The gatefold jacket is the non-torso version that has had Eric Emerson's torso air brushed out, but it does contain Andy Warhol's infamous banana peel sticker.  The sticker has been partially peeled, but most of it is still intact.  This album continues to grow in value and scarcity as time passes.  This particular LP has V6-5008 SIDE-1  MGS-558-REV as the matrix number etched in the dead wax, on side one.  Side two of the LP has V6-5008 SIDE-2  MGS-559 etched on the dead wax.  The vinyl is in Very Good Plus/Very Good condition. The LP has a good number of light hairline scratches on each side.  Side A has a few more blemishes than side B.  There are also a series of small nick blemishes on Side A between track 5 and 6.  Side B also has these series of small nicks that are only on track 5.  I noticed some feedback during Heroin, and during some of the other softer tracks.  The small nicks also cause a light tick noise as the needle passes over them.  The playback is closer to Very Good Plus. The LP labels are clean with only a few faint spindle marks on each side.  This album also includes the original Verve company inner sleeve.  The inner sleeve is in outstanding shape.  The LP cover is in Very Good Plus Condition.  The album gatefold cover has some light age spots that are present on the front, back, and inside of the gatefold.  The front of the cover contains Andy Warhol's banana sticker.  The banana sticker is about 65% intact.  Someone took the liberty to try to peel the stem and base of the banana.  The back of the cover also has some wear on the pictures and a date stamped on the upper right corner.  Next to the stamped date, someone has also made two parallel permanent marker marks.  The seams and spine all have some mild wear.  The spine has some wear, but it is mostly legible.  The catalog number is partially missing the V, but the rest of the spine is completely legible.  The bottom seams also have a good amount amount of wear.  The bottom seam that contains the LP was split at one time, but has since been professionally re-adhered.  None of the seams are currently split .  All of the corners have some very minor rounding.  The inside of the gatefold has age spots, a pen doodle next to Femme Fatale, and a marker mark next to side one.  This album has been professionally cleaned on a VPI 16.5 and will be shipped in a brand new white inner sleeve.  The album gatefold jacket will come in a new 3 mil poly sleeve.  The album will be professional shipped in an LP mailer with two 12 inch cardboard inserts.  The LP will be positioned outside of the gatefold jacket when shipped.  This album is ready for playing or storage.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  I do not ship outside of the United States.  I can combine shipping for multiple auction wins.  Please bid with confidence.
