The Velvet Underground & Nico-Sunday Morning/Femme Fatale 1966 Australian 7".  This super rare Australian single was the only Velvet's single released on the orange Aussie Verve label in December 1966. The single versions of these songs were different to the album versions and are otherwise only available as bonus tracks on the 2002 Universal Deluxe 2CD reissue or the 2012 Universal Super Deluxe 6CD reissue of the album. The Velvet Underground & Nico is the debut album by American rock band The Velvet Underground and vocal collaborator Nico. It was originally released in March 1967 by Verve Records. Recorded in 1966 during Andy Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable multimedia event tour, The Velvet Underground & Nico would gain notoriety for its experimentalist performance sensibilities, as well as the focus on controversial subject matter expressed in many of their songs including drug abuse, prostitution, sadism and masochism and sexual deviancy.

The Velvet Underground & Nico was recorded with the first professional line-up of the Velvet Underground, including Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison and Maureen Tucker. German singer Nico was also featured, having occasionally performed lead vocals for the band at the instigation of their mentor and manager, Andy Warhol. Nico sang lead on three of the album's tracks—"Femme Fatale", "All Tomorrow's Parties" and "I'll Be Your Mirror"—and back-up on "Sunday Morning". In 1966, as the album was being recorded, this was also the line-up for their live performances as a part of Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable.

"Sunday Morning" is a song by The Velvet Underground. It is the opening track on their 1967 debut album The Velvet Underground & Nico. It was also released as a single in 1966 with "Femme Fatale".

In late 1966, "Sunday Morning" was the final song to be recorded for The Velvet Underground & Nico. It was requested by Tom Wilson, who thought the album needed another song with lead vocals by Nico with the potential to be a successful single. The final master tape of side one of the album shows "Sunday Morning" only penciled in before "I'm Waiting for the Man".

Wilson brought the band into a New York City recording studio in November. The song was written with Nico's voice in mind by Lou Reed and John Cale on a Sunday morning. The band previously performed it live with Nico singing lead, but when it came time to record it, Lou Reed sang the lead vocal. Nico would instead sing backing vocals on the song.

Aiming to create a hit for the album, "Sunday Morning" features noticeably more lush and professional production than the rest of the songs on the album. The song's prominent use of celesta was the idea of John Cale, who noticed the instrument in the studio and decided to use it for the song.

"Femme Fatale" is a song by The Velvet Underground from their 1967 debut album The Velvet Underground & Nico, with lead vocals by Nico. At producer Andy Warhol's request, band frontman Lou Reed wrote the song about Warhol superstar Edie Sedgwick. The song was released as a B-Side to "Sunday Morning" in December 1966. It is one of the gentler songs of the album, coming as a direct contrast to the previous, abrasive song, "I'm Waiting for the Man".

M, mint condition, unplayed, with no marks on playing surface and labels as new.
M-, mint minus, either unplayed, with minimum scuffs caused by paper sleeve, or played once or twice only and still as new.
EX, excellent condition, record played carefully, very clean surface, minimum scuffing. 
VG, very good condition, scuffing or signs of groove wear but no bad scratches. Only minor pops or crackles.
G, good condition, well played with plenty of scuffs, light scratches and groove wear.Noise evident but no jumps.
F, fair condition, playable but heavily scuffed or scratched, with a lot of surface noise. Maybe minor jumps from scratches.

M, Mint - As New
Ex, Excellent – Very little ware – no marks or worn corners
VG, Very Good  – some minor wear and some minor marks visible 
G, Good – worn cover, may have creased corners, heavier marks, small tears but still complete

~ Air-Mail to the rest of the world is AUD$13.00, although certain destinations (Russia, Italy, Brazil etc.) must choose the registered mail option due to problems experienced with the respective postal services. Unfortunately Australia Post have increased postage costs once again(7/10/13) and as they operate a monopoly, I have no control over them.

Usually the second item will be at half the stated postage and handling fee and subsequent items will be an additional $1 each for locals. Please enquire for overseas destinations as it all depends on weight. Often more than one item can be included for the same cost or a little additional. The postage rates usually increase for each additional 250g increment. Pickups will only be charged one handling fee.

Insurance inside Australia is an extra AU$3.60 for registration which covers upto $100. Extra cover is available on request at a cost of $1.50 per $100. Once it is posted it is your responisibility to follow up with Australia Post if you do not choose insurance. I am not responsible for any uninsured parcels once I have posted them.
