Description
Up for offer is what I believe to be a second press of the classic 2nd album by The Velvet Underground, White Light/White Heat, Verve Records Stereo, catalog number V6-5046. Reason I believe it to be a second press is the correction on the back cover credits. On first pressings, Lou Reed is credited with Lead Guitar, from 2nd pressings onward, he is credited with just Guitar. Also, first issues mis-titled Here She Comes Now as THERE She Comes Now, which was corrected on second issues onward. Additionally, first issues also gave Andy Warhol a credit, 2nd issue onward there is no Warhol credit.
Blue Verve labels, with the original publishing company mention (Three Prong Music) as opposed to later issues which mention Oakfield Avenue Music as the publishing company. Vinyl in great shape, some sleeve scuffing at the end of track 3 on side 1 into track 4. When held up to the light, however, the scuffing isn't seen, meaning it doesn't go into the groove. It does not affect play. Side 2 has a mark in the middle of the second track, which looks like something that happened in manufacturing. This also isn't visible when held up to the light and again, this does not affect play. If not for these marks, I'd grade this record EX or NM. The sleeve is also in great shape, with only the slightest hint of foxing on the cover. There is a slight split at the top center of the cover, but other than that, this is in great shape for an almost 50 year old record. And Billy Name's skull tattoo photo on the cover is visible when held to the light at an angle.
