Mint minus(M-) = like new.
Excellent (Ex) = overall clean and shiny with a minor scuff or two. A keeper copy for sure.
Very Good (VG) = still quite acceptable with scuffs and some hairline scratches that may affect sound quality and also distract slightly from overall appearance.
Good (G) = well used but still worthwhile due to rarity or desirability.
(+) plus or (-) minus may be added to indicate a bias to the next grading level.
Rare 1st US pressing in stereo of The Velvet Underground's 1st record produced and designed by Andy Warhol. On blue Verve label with silver lettering. This is the coveted "torso" cover featuring journalist Eric Emerson's image displayed above the band. This image was soon covered over in subsequent pressing, then airbrushed out in all future releases. The banana sticker is 95% there. The sticker was removed almost half way, then put back on. The stem of the banana is missing. The cover is glossy and features no seam splits besides a small one about half inch long on the back corner (pictured). Thick cardboard US style with no ring wear in excellent condition bright white and clean but for a small stain on front cover near banana (pictured). A former owner stamped their name on the upper left side of the opened gatefold in blue. There is also a price written in ink of $3.98 on the upper right side of the back cover beneath the serial number. The record is in (VG+) condition. Shiny with very few scuffs caused from taking the record out of the sleeve. The only audible scratch is about one inch long that covers most of "I'm Waiting For The Man" and halfway into "Femme Fatale". This is the only audible "click" sound on the record. No skips. light "crackling" sound that is pretty normal for a record that's 44 years old. Overall an excellent copy. Do not have original record sleeve.
