Description

Original UK vinyl pressing of A Northern Soul, the second studio album by The Verve, released in 1995 on Hut Records (catalogue number HUTLP 27).

The album represents a major artistic leap for the band, expanding on the psychedelic textures of their debut into a darker, more expansive sound driven by the songwriting of Richard Ashcroft.

Now widely regarded as one of the defining British alternative albums of the mid-1990s, A Northern Soul laid the groundwork for the band’s later global success.

Key tracks include:

• This Is Music
• History
• On Your Own
• Stormy Clouds
• No Knock On My Door
