This is the original UK LP by The WAILERS, Bob Marley's band,  CATCH A FIRE, 1973 1st Press on the 'Pink Rim' ISLAND label ILPS 9241. THE RARE hinged Zippo Lighter cover

This is a SUPER RARE EXAMPLE of this RARE LP, as inside the top part of the cover is clearly stamped in ink ' SAMPLE COPY' !!!!!!!. So this is likely to be one of only a very few Very 1st PressingS that was distributed by a representative of Island Records to a radio company for the intention of reviewing the album before it's official release, ** SUPER RARE! **

The Album was released on the 13th April 1973, ONLY the first 20,000 copies were released with Zippo lighter cover, there after the album artwork was totally different.

Matrix numbers are,  Side A:-  ILPS 9241 A-3U,  Side B:- ILPS 9241 B-4U - There were no lower matrix numbers

Stamper codes are,  Side A:-  1 / AU,  Side B:-  2 / H  - low stampers

Additionally this is machine stamped on each side in the run- off dead wax area 'STERLING'

Importantly above the correct ISLAND matrix numbers on each side is stamped in-correctly totallt differnt matrix numbers that have a line through them 'BML 2001 A -3U', 'BML 2001 B-4U' and below Side B's stamper code 'H' is another 'H' that has a line through it. This is catagoric proof that this is a Very 1st Press and one of only a few initial Pressing's to come off the Pressing plant first. It is likely that these errors were only noticed at the very last moment and either accepted for official release or merely viewed as acceptable and that no one would notice or be interested. Later Pressing of this album would not have these croosed out errors.

The incredably RARE original 1973 UK Very 1st issue Robor Limited Zippo Lighter 'SAMPLE COPY' cover is in a SUPERB EX+, lovely and clean and fresh, maintaining all it's original bright vibrant colours, superb!!. The spine is broad (not squashed as most are) and perfectly readable. Their is no unwanted writing and no seam splits. This superbly designed cover is notourisley hard to find in very nice condition. Principally because of its fragile construction, with the hinged top part of the cover revealing the inside of the Zippo lighter. Most found  ( thats if you can find one), are badley damaged, torn, badly creased and stained. NOT this lovely example, showing only minimal wear, lovely spine , and only light wear to the fragile edges. The hinged section of the cover works pefectly, and the brass or nickle plated eye -lit is rust free and clean. The outside of the cover maintains all it's rich vibrant colour, as does the inside. The wording 'SAMPLE COPY' , stamped in dark blue or black ink is located inside the lid (top section) of the cover, this must of been done before the cover cover was glued together.  This is 'THE' best original UK Zippo Lighter 'CATCH A FIRE'; cover ive seen in many years!

The vinyl is in a STUNNING MINT- condition!!,  gleaming with all it's original 'Just Pressed glossy shine and lustre!, I have played both sides (very carefully!) and the vinyl plays MINT-,  playing with stunning crisp clear clarity, amazing rich Stereo sound!!!!. The quality of this 1973 UK Stereo 1st Pressing is TOP TOP QUALITY!, playing with stunning rich tones, warmth and depth!!  a real privilage to listen too

The ISLAND 'Pink Rim' labels are in  ** MINT- ** condition!!!, beautifully clean and factory fresh!, maintaining all their original bright fresh colour, their is no unwanted writing, no scuffs, the centre spindle hole shows no wear!. Their are very very faint traces of re-allignment marks, these are so light and only barely visialbe under a intense light source

The vinyl is housed in it's original 1973 UK 1st issue  Island records plain white inner sleeve and in EX condition!, clean,  creased on the corners, their is no unwanted writing and no seam splits

To conclude, this is a super rare LP, virtually impossible to find and espicially in this wonderful EX+++ / MINT- condition.
