Description
Hello and welcome to this lot,
I have for sale a very good copy of The Walker Brothers very last album, "Nite Flights" (1978) on the original GTO label. As you can see by the photos, the cover is in fairly good condition for its age, and the record itself is excellent. (My apologies for the slightly dark photos by the way - its very difficult to get a decent shot in the perpetual gloom of Derbyshire. If by some miracle we get a decent day I will upload more pictures).
As for the music, each member of the group wrote songs for the album, two were by Gary Walker while Scott Walker and John Walker each contributed four. The album was recorded in February 1978 in the UK at Scorpio Sound, London, and released in July 1978. Needless to say, Scott Walkers tracks are probably the standouts which hint towards his headlong journey into the avant-garde. Additionally, these are far more accessible than his later outputs, influencing the likes of David Bowie in his Heroes/Lodger/Scary Monsters era. In addition, the single "The Electrician" featured recently on the Bronson movie and soundtrack, in a very memorable scene where Tom Hardy decides to fight around ten police officers.
Nonetheless, if you have any questions at all, please feel free to get in touch.
Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
