The Walker Brothers - Nite Flights GTLP 033 (GTO, UK, 1978)
1st UK Press with light blue GTO labels in Gatefold Sleeve.  A7/ B6 Matrices.

The swansong of the Walker Brothers, and the start of Scott Walkers' artistic resurgence.  In a post-reformation slump, with label GTO on the verge of collapse, the group were offered to record a final LP and to do pretty much what they wanted.  All three members contributed material, but Scott's new material (four songs) was something else - oblique, dark almost 'industrial' music that took the cue of David Bowie's recent material and put it somewhere else completely.  The 'Electrician' in particular, is like nothing before or since - a chilling masterpiece.  The album made no waves on release, and only had a very limited pressing run.

Condition (I Grade NM / EX / VG+ / VG / VG- / G / F)

Sleeve - (CONDITION) VG+ In very good shape but some wear from storage.  The top seams are worn(black seams often do), and there's rubbing marks on the front and in the gatefold, mostly at the top and bottom edges (see pics).  Some sticker residue on the top front right.  Several creases across and down the spine, but rubric still perfectly legible.  No writing, splits or tears.

Record - (CONDITION) EX In excellent shape.  Hasn't been played a great deal at all, and unsure if it was played before I bought it.  Next to no spindlewear I could detect..  Only real wear seems to come from paper/handling scuffs, which you can only really see in strong light.  Sounds fantastic on play, but with some very light crackle - more down to the virtue that it needs a good clean than to do with any damage or wear (I don't have knosti or VPI here).

The labels are good but for a few marks - a little red line that seems to be down to a printing mishap, and a few dots on the other side (like Braille) - no idea why they are there...(see pics)

Who wants this?  An incredibly rare item, and a holy grail for Walker collectors, and a great copy, although the sleeve is below absolutely fantastic condition.   If you want Scott's 4 (pun) Nite Flights tracks in their all-analog majesty  - this is the best way to get them.

POSTAGE - £7 Registered Delivery.  UK Only.
