THE WAR ON DRUGS have their fourth studio album "A Deeper Understanding" for August 25th. announced. The work, which also makes their Atlantic Records debut, is the Philadelphia-based band's first new album since "Lost In The Dream", which was released in 2014 and received critical acclaim all over the world.
After THE WAR ON DRUGS already released the 11-minute song "Thinking of a Place" on this year's Record Store Day and shortly after presented the first official single of the upcoming album with "Holding On", a new chapter in the band's history will be heralded at the end of August .

During the writing process for "A Deeper Understanding", songwriter and mastermind Adam Granduciel called in his bandmates and can now present the result of a band album in the most sublime sense.

Over the years of relocation, rethinking and reviewing endless hours of material, unrestrained exploration and exuberance, Granduciel's unabashed dedication to his art propelled the band to new heights.
