Description
The Wendys’ Goobledygook album was released by Tony Wilson’s legendary Factory Records in 1991. This is a very rare white label test pressing of the album. Issued to staff and associates to check the pressing before the full commercial release was given the go-ahead. They were a Scottish alternative indie rock band, that were part of the Madchester music scene, and were signed to the Factory Records music label by Wilson. They were formed in Edinburgh by Jonathan Renton (vocals), Ian White (guitar), Johnny MacArthur (drums), and Arthur Renton (bass). This was their debut album, produced by Lightning Seeds main man Ian Broudie, and was one of the last to be released before Factory went out of business. Tracks are:
A1 Something's Wrong Somewhere
A2 Pulling My Fingers Off
A3 Half Blind
A4 Suckling
A5 Removal
A6 Gobbledygook
B1 I Want You And I Want Your Friend
B2 Soon Is Fine
B3 Half Pie
B4 I Feel Lovely
B5 The Sun's Going To Shine For Me Soon
LP is in mint condition [but please be aware that as a test pressing it may feature a few more pops and crackles than the finished article] and comes, as originally issued, in a dies cut plain white paper sleeve. Catalogue number is FACT285.
