Description
For sale is an extremely rare presentation edition box of the Who's 1981 album Face Dances
Complete with all the items... Album itself, large poster, artist notes
Only 250 copies were produced by Polydor UK in 1981 for radio executives, music journalists, and VIPs.
The Presentation Box: Unlike the standard gatefold sleeve, this copy is housed in a dedicated, hard-sided promotional presentation box.
The Artist Notes: The famous cover art concept was designed by pop artist Peter Blake (famous for Sgt. Pepper), who commissioned 16 different artists—including David Hockney, Richard Hamilton, and Allen Jones—to paint portraits of the band members. This promo box specifically contains exclusive informational insert sheets/notes detailing the background of these artists
Condition of the record is VG, plays through with no skips, there is slight popping at the beginning of both sides, and some between tracks. Some hairline marks, but as said, no scratches that make the record jump.
The large poster is in excellent condition, only has the original creases, no rips or discolouration, etc
Artist notes are in excellent condition, still stapled together with original staple.
Now for the box, this does have issues and is the only letdown on this very rare item [please see photos], and this is reflected in the price
In pristine condition, this has sold for £500 + due to only 250 copies ever released.
Will be posted via Royal Mail Special delivery with signature on receipt and insurace
