Description

The Who 'The Who Sell Out' mint-throughout original UK Mono LP with psychedelic poster. 1967 Track Mono 612.002.

A fantastic mint-conditioned example of this classic UK LP. No sticker on sleeve, but otherwise complete. A very limited number of these LP's, between 250 and 500 each in mono and stereo, were issued with this poster.

Some of my photographs show shadows and are a bit grainy and dark, particularly the picture of the front cover. This LP is genuinely mint throughout, and I have described this below.

I have attempted to display every aspect of this LP in my photographs, but pictures do not reveal everything. Therefore, I have included an accurate and honest written description of the LP and poster. I am particularly strict about condition.

Vinyl: Absolutely mint both sides (examined under bright light). No surface marks or other marks at all. Thick vinyl looks almost unplayed, or played once or twice.

Labels: Mint minus (single spindle mark of about 1cm on 'Side 1' label, no other mark or writing or fingerprint). Black and silver 'Track' labels look almost new.

Matrices: 612002 A 2-11 1, 612002 B 1 1 1.

Sleeve: Ex++ (photographs show shadows and do not represent sleeve well, laminated front and back with very minor ringwear and few very minor creases only, no yellowing or fading, small label residue on upper right corner of laminated back - there is no damage or scratching/ nail marks to the lamination here, and I don't dare attempt to remove this!). Although the 'includes psychedelic poster' sticker was normally placed on the front of the sleeve, I just hope that someone in the 60's didn't peel the precious sticker from the sleeve!

'Manufactured in Great Britain by Polydor Records Ltd., London... Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London, W.11.'

Spine: Absolutely crisp with crimped ends. Spine not 'broken'. No damage or yellowing to lettering on spine.

Inner sleeve: Original 'British Patent/ Made in England' plain white lined.

Poster: Ex++ (very minor creasing where thin poster has been opened in past to examine, but this only shows on the white back, extremely minor yellowing at extreme edges from ageing, small area where some kind of label appears to have been removed from back of poster, but no tearing or thinning of paper here, no holes, no pin marks or tape marks to corners - clearly never put up on wall!). Original slightly glossy poster 'Printed by Chevalier-Rotterdam / Adrian George / OAS 6 / c Osiris Visions Ltd. 83 Charlotte St. W.1.' This is not a reproduction (though I know some have been printed), and is on the correct 60's poster paper. My photograph reveals the print just showing throught the plain back of the poster, which does not occur on later reprints.

(UK 'Record Collector' grading system: Mint - 'Brand new condition', Excellent - 'Some signs of having been played', Very good - 'Obviously been played many times'.)
