Description
Analogue Productions – AUHQR 0028. The Who's defining, breakthrough concept album Tommy — a full-blown rock opera about a deaf, dumb and blind boy — is a daring, electrifying album that launched the band to international superstardom upon its original release in May 1969 and established The Who as one of the most ambitious forces in rock music.
Conceived and written by guitarist Pete Townshend, Tommy tells the surreal story of a "deaf, dumb and blind" boy who becomes a spiritual and cultural phenomenon. But beyond the narrative, the album is a tour de force of songwriting and performance, packed with iconic tracks like "Pinball Wizard," "I'm Free," and the transcendent finale "We're Not Gonna Take It/See Me, Feel Me" that remains cornerstones of The Who's live performances.
