The Who and Pete Townsend Records This is an ebay auction! All communication can be done through ebay messaging and payment will be done THROUGH EBAY. I will gladly answer any inquiries
Phases - A popular box set containing 9 albums (11 discs) My Generation A Quick One The who Sell Out Tommy Live at Leeds Who's Next Quadrophenia The Who By Numbers Who Are You The Box and Record Jackets are all like new. any discoloration or faded appearance is because of the lighting when I took the pictures. The box even still has the original cellophane shrink wrap (although torn). Stored for many years. All packaging is supposed to be as they were originally released (except for the "limited edition" tags on each one) . . . Tommy includes the book with lyrics and lovely artwork. Live at Leeds has the glossy photos and memorabilia. FOR FULL DISCLOSURE the poster included with Live at Leeds (Who at the Marquis Club) is MISSING. The poster is available, I found one on eBay for around $35. Quadrophenia has the thick book of story, lyrics, and B&W photography. A discrepancy . . . The Who By Numbers was originally released with a very course paper jacket, this one has a smooth matte finish Most of the discs have NEVER BEEN ON A TURNTABLE. Only one I really played much was "The Who Sell Out". All are wonderful and unique
Odds And Sods - I bought this used for the unique jacket design. Front cover is die cut and reveals bits of what is underneath. Also includes a B&W insert of the front cover with lyric sheet on the back and a peculiar color poster of the band on stage. NOTE: THIS IS AN OLD, USED RECORD. I had a playable newer print to listen to. The die cut jacket has 2 compartments (one for the LP, one for the poster and insert I assume) and there is a partial print of the poster on the front side of the partition which can be viewed through the holes (???) The vinyl is not in great condition, with long visible scratches. I have never played it so I don't know how it sounds (I had a reprint without the fancy packaging that I listened to . . . it's a good record! Long Live Rock!!!) This record was a "cut out", meaning it was tagged for reduced price clearance. The corner of the jacket was cut off at 45 degrees, as was the practice back then. Not only did they cut off the corner of the jacket, but also the poster, insert, and record sleeve. I find this damage endearing. It is a part of the history of vinyl. And it's appropriate if you look at the cover of the album.
Scoop - A Pete Townsend record. Also a nice bit of packaging. This is a double album of home studio recordings done by Pete, some made it onto Who records (Pete Townsend records?), some did not. It's a glimpse of the creative process of being a songwriter. Includes a lot of information written by Pete including descriptions of his studios and equipment, and a brief bit of information about the tracks. Very nice insight graciously provided by a legendary artist. NOT awesome recordings to listen to, they are diamonds in the rough mostly, though I am quite fond of a track called "Melancholia" There is a follow up collection called Another Scoop Vinyl should be in good condition, sleeves have some yellow spots on the edge (??? beer maybe?)
See my other auctions soon for more interesting vinyl collectables . . . thanks for looking
