If only for featuring Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Jeff Beck as successive lead guitarists, the Yardbirds earned a place in rock history. But ---- primarily due to that guitar god trinity --- the band also brought an inventiveness to British Invasion blues-rock that would only be surpassed by the Rolling Stones and Cream.
On offer is perhaps the Yardbirds' finest album, 'Roger the Engineer'. Produced by Paul Samwell-Smith and Simon Napier Bell, this record established Jeff Beck as one of the most creative and original guitarists on the planet. Featuring groundbreaking guitar leads, feedback textures, and experiments with Eastern scales.
Initially released in 1966, the version offered here was released in 2016 to mark it's 50th anniversary. Repertoire Records obtained the original Stereo master tapes; and using a half-speed mastering process, created the definitive pressing for this album.
