Both albums look nearly unplayed, visually. On Side Two, there is an isolated area with some VERY light scratches. But the other three sides look amazing. Play-testing does reveal some very light static through the first track, and between tracks in the silent bands. NOTHING that even comes close to being a pop. For the most part, once the other tracks start, you don't hear anything. Sides 1, 3 and 4 are all 1A plates. Side 2 is 1D.
The labels are all strong and very clean. If you hit it just right in the light, you can find a spindle mark or two if you want.
The cover has strong seams, although there is definitely some shelf wear. The spine is moderately worn, but that doesn't mean heavily worn. The inside gatefold is still plenty sharp and bold, and the seam is completely intact and very strong. This is definitely a very early copy. In addition to the 1A plates, there is a promo stamp on the back cover, which is hard to read. But it is the unmistakeable Columbia and Epic "Demonstration. Not For Sale" red stamp. See photo.
Includes both original Epic inner sleeves with advertisements for posters, articles on non-Columbia artists like Led Zeppelin and of course, the crossword puzzle not filled out. Both sleeves are clean, but they're also separated about a third of the way on each.
